Cristiano Ronaldo weeps uncontrollably following Portugal's shocking elimination at the hands of Morocco during the FIFA World Cup

Legendary Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted sobbing uncontrollably as his team, Portugal, was stunned 1-0 by Morocco in the quarterfinals of the 2017 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, in what may have been his final World Cup performance.

Morocco made history by being the first country from Africa to get to the final four stage of the main competition. Prior to them, Ghana, Senegal, and Cameroon had all failed to advance past the quarterfinal stage.

When he entered the game as a replacement early in the second half, Ronaldo tied the record for most international appearances. As he exited the field and entered the tunnel, he was observed sobbing.

Although Ronaldo and his teammates gave it their all and came near on numerous times, Morocco was able to maintain their advantage after Youssef En-Nesyri headed in from close range in the last seconds of the first half.

The Moroccan team has had a fantastic World Cup; they are currently undefeated in the competition. They had held the powerful Croatians to a scoreless draw in their opening encounter of the competition and then defeated Belgium and Canada to go to the knockout rounds.
